FUN GOOD 'OL DAYS STYLE

The Moose wrote a touching story "A Bugle From Tom".
It truly and accurately reflects how growing up in the 50/60's..REALLY WAS.
I can well understand how the passing of Tommy has touched you, as Moose, you surely spent many, many quality hours entertaining yourselves. NEVER time to get into trouble, well I mean REAL trouble and yet while life was somewhat more simple then, we never lacked for anything.
Making your own fun was a way of life then, except for the organized summer Little League baseball and winter's Pee Wee or Bantam hockey. Both sports played in the same venue or arena, behind one of Hudson's institutions....Ben's Restaurant.
Many, many fond memories: Norris farm "oating" and field fire fighting, trout stream fishing, golfing, Chip and Dale in the forests, scrub baseball games, throwing rotten apples (hee,hee...not serious trouble), biking (Bike LOCK...what was that?) and so on and so on. OH one particular memory: before the real pool table arrived at the Moose's residence, playing pool on a homemade plywood table with cleverly devised pockets and bumpers. The clue sticks were wooden dowels and the balls....GOLF BALLS. Now that illustrates how imaginative you can be to making YOUR OWN FUN.
Well it is a beautiful spring day here..so I think I'll go for a bike ride, unfortunately with a LOCK!! Cheers for now and here is TO: FUN Good 'Ol Days Style.
